The Birds

How would you react to the end of the world? To relentless inexplicable attacks from the birds in the sky?

Strangers Nat and Diane are taking refuge in an isolated house when they are joined by an outsider, Julia. Social isolation helps suspicion and paranoia grow within the group putting their survival at risk. Also who is the man watching them from across the lake. Is he a friend or foe?

The Birds is a dark intense exploration of 3 characters from different backgrounds thrown together during exceptional circumstances based on the Daphne du Maurier short story. Which was also the basis of the Hitchcock film of the same title.

Alice Saves Pantoland by Kate Moore

Play Read Through: Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th August 7:30pm

Audition Dates: Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th August 7:30pm

Play Read and Audition Venue: Friends Meeting House, Sansome Walk, Worcester, WR1 1UG

Coach House Performance Dates: 14th – 16th Jan 2027 plus 16th Jan Matinee

Tech: 11th – 12th Jan

Dress: 13th Jan

Rehearsals: Initially Tuesdays from 8th September

Play: The wicked Queen of Hearts has seized the throne of Wonderland and has her sights set on ruling Pantoland next. She sends her servant to find Cinderella’s Glass Slipper. Can Alice and her friends stop her in time and will an age old prophecy finally come true? A typical British Pantomime requiring lots of energy and participation with the audience.

Cast:

Chester: (m/f any age) A smart and savvy cat who interacts continually with the audience.

Alice: (f teens-20s) Our sensible heroine

Potterina: (m/f any age) Written as a Panto Dame but can be played by either m or f. Comedy role as one of the Ugly Sisters and Alice’s Cousin

Lavatina: (m any age) Panto Dame. Comedy role as Ugly Sister and Alice’s Cousin

Queen of Hearts: (f any age) Tyrannical Ruler of Wonderland and Panto Villain

Knave of Hearts: (m/f any age) Queen’s Servant and Keen Gardener

Mad Hatter: (m/f any age) Former Ruler of Wonderland
